A delightful blend of 100% Organic Calendula Flowers and Chives which is infused into White Vinegar which is a milder tasting vinegar allowing the delicate flavors of the calendula and chives to shine through...This is absolutely delicious on salads, vegetables and fruits as is or as a base to a homemade dressing. Calendula is a very beneficial herb and has been used for centuries in recipes, tinctures, salves and teas.
I will currently be making infused vinegars and allowing them time to marinate with each of the herbs I will be mixing, once a vinegar is received simply refrigerate and use. The longer a vinegar is allowed to sit the better the taste develops. This allows all the flavors to meld together creating a wonderful tasty herbal infused vinegar. It has a long shelf life but after about 6 months the flowers will begin to fade yet this will not affect the quality or flavor. It has been my experience however that these infused vinegars are so delicious they rarely sit for any period of time.
This infused Vinegar was submitted to the Deschutes County Fair for judging and won a Blue Ribbon for First Place.
